The metal stamping industry is a vast field that is deeply embedded in various aspects of the manufacturing industry. In China, the industry is known for its sheet metal forming process which involves separation and forming processes. The separation process entails separating the metal stamping parts and blanks along a defined contour line. The quality of the separation must meet certain requirements. On the other hand, the forming process involves transforming the metal stamping blank into the desired shape with no damage to the material. The temperature used in stamping can be either hot or cold dependent on the strength, plasticity, thickness, deformation degree, and equipment capacity.
Cold metal stamping is done at room temperature with thickness no more than 4mm while hot metal stamping heats the metal to a certain temperature range. Hot metal stamping eliminates internal stress and increases plasticity while reducing deformation resistance and equipment power consumption. The stamping process involves upper and lower molds, with the upper die fixed on the press slider while the lower die is on the workbench. The punch and female die are working parts of the die used to deform or separate the blank. The upper and lower templates are equipped with guides and locating pins to control the feeding direction and length of the blank, while the unloading plate helps remove the stamped workpiece or blank.
